Kanect is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how Kanect (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our integrated SaaS platform, including our specific products: me.kanect.in (Digital VCard), wa.kanect.in (WhatsApp Marketing Tool), and Kanect ERP, along with all related services and websites.
1. Our Role in Data Processing
Our role regarding data depends on the type of information:
| Data Type | Kanect’s Role | Description |
| User Data | Data Controller | Data we collect directly from you when you sign up, log in, pay, or interact with our support (e.g., your name, email, billing info). |
| Customer Data | Data Processor | Data you input into our products about your own end-users, clients, or employees (e.g., WhatsApp contact lists, chat history, ERP employee payroll data). We process this data strictly on your behalf and instructions. |
2. Information We Collect (User Data – Where we are the Controller)
We collect data necessary to provide and maintain the Kanect service, manage your account, and fulfill legal obligations.
A. Information You Provide Directly
- Account Registration: Name, company name, email address, phone number, and password (hashed).
- Billing Information: Payment details (processed securely by our third-party payment processor, not stored directly by us), billing address, and GST/VAT ID.
- Support & Communications: Records of communication when you contact our support team or send us feedback.
B. Usage & Technical Data
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, access times, and referring website addresses.
- Cookies and Tracking: We use essential and functional cookies to maintain your session, authenticate users, and remember preferences. We use analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand how the platform is used and improve it.

| Kanect ERP | Employee records (names, salaries, attendance), inventory data, vendor details, billing records, and financial transaction data. |
B. Our Commitment as a Data Processor
- We process this data solely to provide the services under our agreement with you.
- We will not use, sell, or rent your Customer Data for our own marketing or advertising purposes.

| Marketing Communication | All Kanect Products | Consent (When you subscribe to newsletters) or Legitimate Interests (For existing customers regarding relevant feature updates). |
5. WhatsApp Marketing Tool (wa.kanect.in) Specifics
Because wa.kanect.in uses the WhatsApp Business API, additional rules apply:
- WhatsApp/Meta Terms: You acknowledge that by using wa.kanect.in, some message metadata is processed by Meta (WhatsApp’s parent company) in accordance with the WhatsApp Business Terms and Policy.
- Consent Responsibility: You are the Data Controller and are solely responsible for obtaining explicit, informed, and compliant opt-in consent from your end-users before sending them any messages (especially promotional ones) via wa.kanect.in.
- Message Content: We do not read the contents of your messages beyond what is technically required to facilitate transmission and logging (e.g., for analytics, template matching, and compliance checks with Meta’s policies).
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure (Sub-Processors)
We will not sell or rent your personal information. We only share data in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers (Sub-Processors): We use trusted third parties to perform functions on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery). These parties are bound by Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and confidentiality clauses.
- Integrations: If you choose to integrate Kanect with third-party tools (e.g., HubSpot, QuickBooks), you grant us permission to share the necessary data to facilitate that integration.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.
7. Data Security and International Transfers
- Security Measures: We use industry-standard technical and organizational security measures, including encryption (SSL/TLS), firewalls, access controls, and regular security audits, to protect data both in transit and at rest.
- International Transfers: As a global SaaS platform, your data may be transferred to and stored in countries outside your country of residence (including India, where we are based, and countries where our cloud service providers are located). We ensure that any such transfer complies with the GDPR and other relevant privacy laws, typically using Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or reliance on Adequacy Decisions.
